NEW DATE!! Food, Water, the Climate and You- A talk by James Renwick and Paul White
10 June 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Join us for a presentation from Professor James Renwick, Victoria University of Wellington professor of physical geography, and member of New Zealand’s Climate Change Commission.
James was one of the authors of the latest IPCC’s 6th Assessment Report, and will be providing an overview of that report’s main findings. His particular inputs focused on the water cycle, and he will be discussing the implications of rapid changes to the water cycle for our crops and coastlines.
This is an opportunity to learn about the most up to date science and policies that relate to climate change and how we deal with one of the most significant challenges we face.
Learn about the implications for Nelson Tasman.
Also to present is Paul White, a scientist with GNS (the Crown Corporation officially known as the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Science). Paul will briefly outline GNS’s approach to developing an energy strategy, and seek your input to this important program.
Doors open at 7pm for tea and chats and presentations and discussions begin at 7.30pm
