This project aims at supporting the restoration of the newly acquired land at Snowdon’s Bush, Brightwater through planting with resilient indigenous trees (drought tolerant) and collaborating with the local community.
We have 12 people who volunteer regularly at the Reserve.
This year (2024), around 700 plants were added to the Reserve.
Of these 300 were planted by Brightwater School and Pinegrove Kindy, another 300 by a Mitre 10 Mega Helping Hands working bee, and the balance by Friends of Snowen’s Bush members.
2024 is the third year that the school and kindergarten have taken part in our planting program.
We run regular weeding working bees, and are also gradually improving the infrastructure facilities at the Reserve.
We maintain a close collaboration with the Dept of Conservation and the local community.
